Also spelled Tantebouchte, Tantbouchet, or Tenebucht, this round, dark Algerian date is often referred to as the "Algerian Ajwa" for its premium quality and exceptional taste.
Appearance & Taste
A small to medium date with a spherical shape, about 2.85 cm long and 2.39 cm wide, weighing roughly 10-12 grams. Its skin color progresses from a beautiful apricot at the Bser (Khalal) stage to amber during Rotab, finally becoming blackish-brown at the Tamr stage. The skin is smooth and shiny. The flesh is honey-colored, soft, semi-soft, and fibrous. Its flavor is very pleasant, sugary, and slightly acidic.
