A variety with large fruits. The fruits are yellowish-red at the Bisr stage and brown when ripe. They are consumed as Rutab (fresh, soft dates) and as Tamr (dried dates). The taste is described as beautiful.
Origin & Harvest
Native to Oman. It is a very old Omani palm variety. Flowering begins in late February and the Rutab stage is in late July. It is a mid-season variety that ripens late in the season. It thrives in hot, humid coastal areas, particularly in the Al Batinah and Muscat governorates.
